DeepSea joins P4G and others in alliance to expand electric mobility.
  • DeepSea Developments has allied with P4G and CleanTechHUB, aiming for the global reduction of carbon emissions through the adoption of electric vehicles.
  • The alliance includes an investment of $339,000, support for the regulatory framework in Colombia, and promotion of the startup MubOn.
  • The charging infrastructure will be enhanced by installing 150 charging points.
  • DeepSea Developments is committed to mitigating climate change and fostering electric mobility in the country since signing the UN’s MoveToZero agreement.

P4G’s mission is to contribute to the transition to net zero by reducing carbon emissions and supporting climate-impact initiatives through partnerships, investment, and technical assistance. CleanTechHUB is an organization that supports climate entrepreneurship and builds ecosystems.

Nick Velasquez, CEO of DeepSea Developments, said: “The alliance with P4G helps us increase our capacity to develop innovative solutions and address urgent sustainability issues in Colombia.”

The alliance will allow for the expansion of the startup MubOn with its real-time charging, monitoring, and collection solution and significantly broaden its network of electric vehicle chargers, a crucial step in a country where only 0.37% of vehicles are electric.

It is projected that 150 charging points will be installed between 2024 and 2025. Additionally, there will be a focus on promoting women’s inclusion in the industry through a training program aimed at increasing the number of women in the electric mobility ecosystem.

Nelson Padilla, Co-founder of DeepSea and leader of MubOn, said, “We are motivated by the interest of international entities in pursuing zero emissions in the country. Electric mobility is the present and future; we will contribute to its mass adoption in Colombia.”

Other important partners will include the private company Celsia S.A. E.S.P., which, as an energy services company passionate about renewable energies, will validate the features of the MubON solution. And ICESI University, which will act as a partner in capacity building, training talent at the local level.
