Qualcomm Acquires Arduino
The acquisition of Arduino by Qualcomm has paved the way for revolutionary hardware. Letting all engineers who already know how to build amazing things with Arduino expand the capabilities of AI by accessing edge computing and AI devices that are compatible with Qualcomm technology. This will be possible through Arduino UNO Q and Arduino App Lab.
On our first day at CES 2026, Arduino partners presented their shared vision and plans for 2026, following the acquisition by Qualcomm. These plans include not only the latest releases in late 2025, such as the UNO Q, but also those projected for 2026. Their focus will be mainly on democratizing AI at the edge, expanding industrial automation, and strengthening education for new developers.
The Arduino UNO Q is a dual-brain hybrid board with a Qualcomm processor running Debian Linux and an STM32 MCU for real-time control. Its main capabilities include on-device machine learning (computer vision), combined Python/C++ programming, and operation as a standalone single-board circuit (SBC).
This product allows us to offer clients the best of both worlds: high-level Python processing and real-time C++ control. For the US industrial sector, this means smarter, faster, and more adaptable automation.
